Easter 2014

We had a pretty low key Easter this year. I figured this was probably the last year we could get away with not dying easter eggs, and after having a new baby, I didn't really feel up to the task. On Friday night/early morning I decided I wanted to take Anistyn to an Easter egg hunt. I did not realize how hard this would be with two kids, but I am glad we went anyway. Some of Robs siblings were going to the Herriman hunt, so I met up with them there. We got there right as the hunt was starting, so Anistyn didn't really get all that much candy, but she did get to meet the Easter bunny, and I was amazed at how much she liked him. I wasnt feeling well (more on that in a later post), so we came back home and I took a nap, and then my mom took Anistyn to my nieces birthday party, and I got to rest some more. The next day, we attempted church, but Anistyn was not sitting still, or quiet, and after about 2 minutes of sitting on the hard chairs, I was done too, so we left. We went to Robs parents house for dinner, and did a little Easter egg hunt for Anistyn. She was not very into the hunt, but she did like the doll she got at the end of the hunt (We gave her the doll to try and distract her from all the candy) A little later, The girls and I went to my brothers house. I was not feeling well, so we didn't stay very long, but it was fun visiting, and finally getting pictures of all the babies (my brother had twin girls 2 weeks before Paisley was born) I didnt take a whole lot of pictures, but here are the ones I do have. Introducing.....

As I mentioned in the previous post about our false alarms,  I didn't want to go to the hospital until my water broke, because I didn't want to be the girl that keeps thinking she is in labor, but gets sent home empty handed. We had our induction date set for Friday April 11, at 7AM. About Wednesday night, around 8pm, I finally accepted that I was going to be induced, and not go on my own like l had wanted. This little girl was determined to teach me two lessons: patience, and that she is the boss. Once I accepted that I would be induced, things went really well on Thursday. I didn't seem stressed or worried until I tried to go to sleep. I was still having some contractions. They were pretty close 4-8 minutes apart, but the nurses T the hospital said that the timing wasn't as important as the intensity.  (Since I had already had contractions 2-3 minutes apart and they didn't do anything for me) I got Anistyn to bed around 8:30, and then took a bath, and headed to bed myself. I couldn't sleep, so I watched an episode of law and order, then laid in bed and tried to sleep. I finally fell asleep around 11:30, only to be woken up at 1:17 with a very painful contraction. I tried not to think too much about it, so I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep. A couple minutes later, I had another one, that made me curl up in a ball. At this point, I got up and walked to the couch in our room, and sat down, thinking maybe a change in position would help. It didn't. So I decided to walk around for a little bit, that didn't help either. I was constantly having to stop and bend over and try to breath through the contractions (which I didn't do very well, since instinctively I want to hold my breath through them.) when walking didn't help, I debated taking a bath. I was afraid to take a bath, because I didn't know if I would be able to tell if my water broke. Finally, around 2, I gave in and took a bath. I shaved my legs, and decided to wait until the morning to wash my hair, since I don't sleep well when it's wet. After the bath, I climbed back into bed,  determined to sleep. The contractions were still very close, and getting more intense than I had ever felt. Finally at about 3:05, I woke rob up and told him that we needed to go to the hospital. I figured if I was scheduled to be induced at 7, if this wasn't really labor, they wouldn't send me home for an hour, just to come right back. Rob called and told his mom, and she came and watched Anistyn. She would take Anistyn to robs sister Kim's house when she woke up around 8 or 9, then come to the hospital for the delivery. We got to the hospital around 3:30, and we skipped the triage room all together and were put right into the delivery room. They got me in a gown as rob was finishing up the paper work, and checking me when he came in. I was a 3+ at 4:15am. Then they got me all hooked up to the IV and I got my epidural. This anastesiologist was amazing, so much better than the one with Anistyn. I hardly felt a thing. Once I had the epidural, I called my mom to let her know the baby was on her way. They sent in the on call dr to break my water at this point. He said he couldn't find it, so it either broke on it's own, or had a slow leak. They told me that a lot of ladies get delayed around a 5 or 7, and then feel a lot of pressure around the 9 or 10 mark. I was okay with that and didn't expect to have the baby until noon or so. They came back in around 6: 45, and checked me again, and I was a 9+ and ready to go! I was not expecting that. I don't think anybody was. We hurried and called robs mom, and had her wake up Anistyn and run her to Kim's, and get to the hospital. He nurses said they were going to hurry and call the dr, and get him here. About. 4 nurses came in right after that and hurried and got the room ready for delivery. I remember thinking that this was all going so fast, and hoping the dr made it in time. When the nurses were in their little rush, one tripped on my IV, it didn't hurt me, but it scared her, as a result, I have a pretty wicked bruise. The DR walked in around 7:20 and got ready. I kept thinking that if we had waited until 7 to be induced, I wouldn't even have my epidural yet, and here I was getting ready to push. The dr explained how to push ( in a much more helpful way then with Anistyn- different DRs) after 1 push they could see her head, the 2nd push, her head came out, and 3rd push, the rest of her little body. She was born at 7:39AM. Robs mom walked in about a minute later. As the dr was pulling her out and turned to get her to cry, she let out the cutest little sneeze. They put her on my chest, and I was able to hold her for about 20 minutes before they took her to be weighed and cleaned up. Rob guessed she would be 6 lbs 8 oz, his mom guessed 6 lbs 10 oz I guessed 6 lbs 15 oz, and my mom guessed 7 lbs 2 oz. My mom was right on. She was also 18.5 inches long. I loved having time with her, and not having her have to go to the NICU. After the delivery, we went to our room, and settled in. We did not want a lot of people to visit in the hospital, since we only wanted to stay one day if we could. The only visitors we had were My mom, Robs parents, grandparents, Kim, and Brent and Katy. Kim brought Anistyn, and she was not happy. She was very tired, and didnt want anything to do with Rob and I, and especially the baby. By the next afternoon, around 2:30, we were Anistyn home around 4, she was grumpy, and got put down for a nap, and luckily did a little better when she woke up, but she still didnt want anything to do with the baby.
