Leaving on a jet plane

Friday, June 1, 2012, Bright and early (about 4AM)I woke up, got ready (as ready as one gets when you know your spending the majority of the day at airports and on planes) Rob got home from work at about 6:30AM, and while he was getting cleaned up really quickly, I finished the last minute packing and we made our way to the airport. We parked, checked in on our flight, made our way through security, grabbed a little something to eat on the plane, and waited about 10 or so minutes before we boarded our plane. I was very nervous for this flight. I don't know if it was because of the 40 minute lay over in Chicago, and worrying that we would miss our flight to DC (last time we landed in Chicago, we were 40 minutes late, our plane was ready to take off, and we had to RUN across the airport to get onto our flight), or if had something to do with the baby. Probably a little of both. Lucky for me, I think Baby Girl Carter knew I was nervous, and I would get a reassuring kick every once in a while. Rob feel asleep before the plane even took off, and slept for most of the flight (Understandably so- since he worked all night before) We landed for our 40 or so minute lay over in Chicago, we checked our phones and saw that we had a few messages from Rob's sister Debby, letting us know that a storm was expected in DC, and she suggested we just head straight to her house (The original plan was to go to our hotel, freshen up, and then head to Debby's house) We decided to go straight there. When we landed in DC, there was a light rain. When we got our bags, and headed to the car rental place, It was POURING. While we were at the car rental place, I looked up at the TV just in time to see that there was a tornado warning for the DC area. Let the panic and anxiety set it! We finally got our car, and started the 30 or so minute drive to Debby's house in Virginia. The drive ended up taking us 3 times as long due to traffic, and the storm. There were times where we couldn't see anything in front of us, or we could see mud sliding down the side of the hill and across the freeway, or an inch of standing water. It was pretty scary. When we finally got there, we said hello to Debby and Alan and their kids, and I finally got to meet Donald and Cat and there kids (Donald was the last sibling I had to meet- now I have met all 13!- WAHOO!) We visited and had lots of food. A little later, Carley (Rob's niece) and her husband arrived from North Carolina, and we all visited some more. We had such a good time visiting and getting to know everyone more! When we decided it was time to go, we followed Debby, Carley and Josh to Robert Carter Road. We were not very successful in getting a good picture, but it was a lot of fun trying! After that, we said our goodbyes, and headed to our hotel in Alexandria Virginia. We checked into the Westin Alexandria around 1AM and went to bed so we could get some rest before the rest of our adventures began! Wrapped around

WOW. I'm a slacker! I thought when I got pregnant I would blog every week, and have a cute belly picture. well obviously THAT's not happening. Part of the reason, Is that I feel so far from cute, that its not even funny. I thought I would be one of those cute girls that don't look pregnant until right before they have a baby. That is SO not me. I started to show really early. It also doesn't help that a certain person in my family comments on it all the time, making me feel fat, not pregnant. Its not a good time for me. Oh well, I do have a baby in there, and that's all that matters. I love our little girl so much already, I cant wait to meet her this fall! She already has Rob and I wrapped around her cute perfect little finger! This was me yesterday at 18 weeks, 5 days
We had our anatomy ultrasound yesterday, and everything is looking perfect with our little girl. They couldn't get a great shot to confirm that she is a girl, but the tech was pretty sure. As of right now, I am 18 weeks 6 days, however she is measuring 19 weeks and 3 days. Its not much of a difference, and the Doctor wont change my due date or anything, but its a fun little thing to know. We also found out that she is approximately 10 OZ right now. I have felt her move maybe a handful of times, but not a whole lot. She is more active when I drink orange juice (which I do everyday with an iron supplement, as I am anemic.) We also found out that Voldermort is now less than 2 CM, and they are officially not worried about it anymore. That is such a relief to me! We also found out that my Placenta is in front (it is normally in the back) this is not a problem, they just say that it may be harder for me to feel her move, as the placenta is a sort of cushion or pillow. I will upload the pictures tomorrow, I left them at home. On April 17th, My sister welcomed her baby girl Kamden into this world. She is super cute, and we all just love her! When she was a day old, Rob and I went to the hospital to see her, and it was really fun to see Rob hold her, It made me even more excited for the delivery of our baby!
Rob and I have bought a few things for our little girl, and my mom and sister have gotten us a few things. My mom got baby girl Carter and baby Kamden the same BYU hat. I LOVE IT!
Aunty Britt got baby Carter her first pair of shoes
Rob and I have bought the next 2 outfits. The onzie outfit we bought the day after we found out we were having a girl.
My sister Brittany and I have been sewing a lot the past week or so. It's been a lot of fun learning how to make things, We have made Mindi a receiving blanket, and a carseat cover. I also made her a wipe case, but forgot to take a picture. I made Brittany's friend a receiving blanket last night, and Brittany made me one (why we didnt switch blankets, I don't know- anyway) I did it all by myself. I pinned and sewed it all. Now all I have to do to it is do the decorative stitch around it- Maybe tonight. The pictures are of Baby Kamden's car seat cover and receiving blanket.

The last are a few pictures of Rob. We live with my sister Brittany, and her 3 kids, and her husband. Chloe is a little princess, and she LOVES Rob. She always tries to go to work with him, or she will wait up until he comes home around 10:30 PM. Rob watched the kids for about 2 hours last week, and when Chloe found out he was watching her, she said she was gonna have Rob push her on the swing. Rob was amazed at her memory since it was a few days before that Rob had mentioned pushing her on the swing. As I was sitting at work, my sister sent me the following picture. Im Pretty sure that Rob is wrapped around her finger too!.
Last night, while Britt and I were finishing up our blankets, Rob came up to have some cookies I made (and Burnt- Which Rob LOVES burnt cookies) He got so fascinated with the sewing machine, and kept asking how it works. He wanted to touch EVERY button on both machines. He had Brittany and I laughing so hard. I love him so much!
I guess the only other thing I have to report is that Rob's work schedule changes next weekend. He was working 2PM-10Pm with Wednesdays and Thursdays off. He will now be working 6PM-6AM, and be on a rotating shift (so like 4 days on, 3 days off) I'm not too happy with him working graveyards, since I don't sleep well with him gone, but it will allow us to see each other more, so I cant complain too much. With the change in his shift, it also allows us to travel and go to a baseball game this summer, so in a few weeks we will be packing our bags and heading to Washington DC. I am excited, Rob has been there before, so he is not as excited as I am, but he is still excited. It will be our last trip together before the baby comes. (I told Rob I was sending him to LA for his birthday in August to go to a dodger game- so he will get to go to 2 games this summer) Im super excited for our trip! I guess that is all, sorry for the long post, and thanks for reading if you stuck around to finish it! Have a wonderful day!!

Picture Overload!!

On Wednesday April 11, 2012 Rob and I went to fetal photo to find out what baby carter would be. I took a poll on facebook, as well as family and friends at work. 22 people said boy, 9 people said girl.... WELL... MINORITY ruled on this one. We are having a baby girl! Rob went into the apt (and throughout the entire pregnancy) thinking we were having a boy. I thought it was a boy until we came up with a girl name, then I didn't know either way. Rob's face was a little shocked when he heard girl, but by the end of the apt, and the idea had sunk in, He was already wrapped around her little finger. Here are the pictures from the ultrasound. We already love her so much! ENJOY!!!

Better Late Than Never

Wow! Have I been a procrastinator or what?!?!

I really need to work on taking pictures. Until I get better at that, here is a semi long update without pictures.

March 22nd: Rob and I had an ultrasound to check on Voldermort. We did this at Riverton Hospital. We LOVED the tech that did the ultrasound. She was so good with explaining everything, and spent a few minutes letting us know that Voldermort was still there, but was in fact a lot smaller, and then spent about 20 minutes letting us look at our baby. Rob is so cute at ultrasounds. He gets so into them and asks a lot of questions, and points a lot of things out. At this apt, we got to hear our babies heartbeat for the first time. what an amazing sound!! The tech also told us that the baby is measuring a week bigger. (YIKES!!) It was such a good experience that our next ultrasound- The BIG one- Where we find out what we are having is going to be at the same place, and I'm hoping we get the same tech. that is scheduled for May 2nd.

After our ultrasound, we went to dinner and the premier of "The Hunger Games!" we went with Mindi and Faa, Brittany and Kevin, My dad and his wife Rebecca, and her kids Morgan and Matthew. The movie was good, but I think with all they hype leading up to it, I was expecting a little more. All in all, it was good. I defiantly will buy the DVD when it comes out.

The following Monday, March 26th, was Our 2nd wedding anniversary. I cant believe how fast time has gone by! We both had to work, so we didn't really get to see each other, but it was worth mentioning.

March 28th: Rob had the day off, and I took the day off so we could hang out together since we didn't get to on our anniversary. We decided to venture to the new City Creek Center downtown. We took trax, and just walked around a little. When we got hungry, we went to the new Cheesecake factory. I tried something new, it was really good, but super spicy. with the wait to sit, the wait to order, and the weight with our food, I had gotten a HUGE headache. (I've been getting them really bad at night lately) We ended up leaving shortly after, and I came home and took a nap for a few hours. Yes- I know, I'm the life of the party. I cant believe its been 2 years. I love Rob so much!!

Conference weekend (March 31 and April 1) was super fun!! Saturday morning My sister was working, and her husband was out of town, so she asked if I could watch her kids. I got Korby at about 7:30AM, and brought him down and put him in my bed with me. Rob was getting ready to go golfing, He came in and we played with the baby for a little while. When Rob left, Korby played a little longer. Then fell asleep. I woke up to this at about 10.

After that, I headed to lunch with Robs family. His brother Brent, his wife Katy, and his sister Kim all came in from California to spend time with Robs grandma. we all pretty much hung out. Saturday night, the girls went to hobby lobby while the boys went to sports authority. We all met back up, had pizza, and then Robs siblings Cheri and Kelby, and Cindy and Brent came over after priesthood, and we had ice cream. The next morning, we went back up to robs moms and had breakfast, and watched the rest of conference.Rob had to leave for work and Brent and Katy left around 2PM to head back to California, and we just visited some more and then I headed home around 4:30PM. It was so good being with family for the weekend, and seeing Brent, Katy, and Kim. I love them! I cant wait to see them again!! I really am blessed to have such an amazing family!!

Tuesday April 3rd, We had another apt with the doctor. This time he just listened to the baby heartbeat, scheduled the next apt and ultrasound, and left. He said everything is looking great. He said that based on the babies heartbeat that day, it was a boy (130 BPM) I guess we will find out soon!!

Yesterday (April 5th) Rob sent me a text while I was at work asking what color I liked better on a car. I didn't think much of it, because since finding out about the baby, We have looked at A LOT of cars. He then called me a little later, and I told him I couldn't talk, because I was training someone, but I would call him when I was done. I got done training at about 5:30PM and shortly before I was going to call him, he sent me a text saying he had Baseball practice at 6. I asked if it was okay if I went, and he said no, because it was just hitting and throwing. I said okay, and went home. I didn't think much of it. Around 7:30, he called me and said he was just pulling into the neighborhood and for me to run out so we could go to the store. I was waiting for him to pull up in his black Truck. (In September we had got him a 2011 Nissan Titan) all of the sudden, a new car pulls into my driveway, with my husband driving it. :) apparently he wasn't really at practice, he was filling out the finial paperwork to get me a new car! He traded in his beloved truck (Which we both LOVE) to get a more "Family friendly" car. I'm not going into too much detail (once again Robs job) but I will say this much about it. Its a Nissan Murano. Leather, Power EVERYTHING (and I mean everything- like the back seats. you pull a leaver and they flip down. you hold a button, and they go back up by themselves- yeah, power EVERYTHING!!) sunroofs, rear backup camera, Bluetooth, push to start ignition. I LOVE IT.

and just because I found this picture I thought I would share it. I don't remember when it was. Lets just say... Sometimes Its so much fun to have a big kid for a husband, Man do I love this guy!
